Addington beach is situated on the south end of Durban, in front of Addington hospital. The surf is generally a foot or two smaller than North beach as it is sheltered from the swell by the harbour mouth.
Parking is really good with car guards to look out for your car and even look after your car keys whilst you are in the water.
There are public toilets available and a couple of cold showers on the promenade.
In terms of food, Surf Riders is amazing. Dont be fooled by it's understated laid back vibe, the food is really excellent.
The Addington beach break is popular with families and people learning to surf. There is no real localism to speak of but be prepared to be dropped in on by some first time surfers learning the ropes.
