Solid swell on the South Coast this weekend.

The peak in the swell will be sometime Friday morning but expect solid sized waves for Saturday and a bit less on Sunday.

Winds look good in the morning.

Saturday looks to be a cracker down the South Coast with some pretty solid surf Saturday and mostly offshore winds.

The Scottburgh surf report for Sunday will probably be a bit more bumpy with a light easterly wind.

For the Scottburgh surf report for this weekend, the swell should have dropped and the wind looks good first thing Saturday morning.

Surf Report South Coast, South Africa

The South Coast region starts on the Bluff off Durban harbour and extends down to the start of the Wild Coast past Port Edward.

The Scottburgh surf report is updated hourly. The surf is consistent year round with the best swells being in the winter months between April and July. In the summer months the water is warm and only boardshorts are required. In winter either a spring suit or 2-3mm wetsuits will be fine. The water quality is generally very good except after summer heavy rains when the water can become brown and dirty.

There is a large variety of waves from beach breaks to point breaks. There are some world class spots such as Cave Rock, Scottburgh and Umzumbe.
